Sprinter Tests Positive

OSLO, Norway () -- Aham Okeke of Norway, one of Europe's top sprinters, tested positive for steroids in the United States last month and could be banned from track-and-field for life.

The Norwegian news agency NTB said Wednesday night that the Nigerian-born sprinter, a sophomore at the Abilene Christian University in Texas, was subjected to an out-of-competition test Dec. 5. The "A sample'' showed high levels of testosterone.

Okeke, 24, told the Norwegian Athletics Federation that a physiotherapist gave him a medication while he being treated for a muscle injury a week before he was tested, NTB said.
