Rams Move Expected

ST. LOUIS, Missouri ) -- FANS Inc., the group trying to bring the Los Angeles Rams to St. Louis, says it will hold a news conference Tuesday to announce that a deal has been struck, according to published reports.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch said in Friday's editions that, barring the unexpected, St. Louis will return to the National Football League after an eight-year absence since the Cardinals left for Arizona.

League owners still must approve the move during their annual spring meeting from March 12 to 17 in Phoenix.

FANS Inc. still might be at the mercy of lawyers drafting legal documents and Rams owner Georgia Frontiere giving formal approval to the move. But the newspaper said several sources told it the announcement is planned for Tuesday. Businessman Stan Kroenke of Columbia, Missouri, is expected to own as much as 40 percent of the team.
