Bucs Saved, by George?

TAMPA, Florida () -- Amid speculation the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be sold to an owner who would move the franchise to Baltimore, George Steinbrenner has come through with an offer to keep the National Football League team where it is.

Steinbrenner refused to say how much money is in the bid, and noted he is but one of a number of other investors he refused to name.

Terry Moore, an attorney for another interested group, said he believed Steinbrenner's bid was $170 million.

Three other offers under consideration all come from those with ties to Baltimore. The largest is $205 million from Peter Angelos, owner of perennial Yankees rival the Baltimore Orioles.
