Tandy Dies at 85

NEW YORK, () -- Actress Jessica Tandy, the original Blanche DuBois in "A Streetcar Named Desire" and an Academy award winner for "Driving Miss Daisy," died Sunday of ovarian cancer at age 85 after a career spanning more than six decades.

Often acting with her husband, Hume Cronyn, the two became one of the foremost acting couples on the American stage, appearing in such plays as "The Fourposter," "A Day at the Sea," "Big Fish, Little Fish," "The Gin Game," and in such films as "The World According to Garp," "Batteries Not Included" and "Cocoon."
