Loyalists: No Cease-Fire

BELFAST () -- Protestant extremists Thursday ruled out any cease-fire in their war to keep Northern Ireland British until Britain and Ireland update their latest plan for an overall settlement to the 25-year conflict.

The Combined Loyalist Military Command, which groups the main UVF and UFF Protestant armed extremist movements, in a statement listed a series of points which they want included in a new joint "framework" document, which the two governments are expected to make public in October, mapping out the next phase of their plans for the future of the province.

These included assurances that the Irish Republican Army cease-fire was permanent and that "no secret deals have been concocted" between the British government and the IRA.
