Kuwait Talks Will Press On

KUWAIT -- Kuwaiti and Russian negotiators have ended a fourth round of talks on an investment promotion accord and plan a fifth round to help work out details, a diplomat said Wednesday.

Round four on the agreement intended to promote and protect two-way investment was held Tuesday in Kuwait, he said. The Kuwait News Agency reported a Kuwaiti official as saying more studies on technical and fiscal subjects were needed.

The pact is expected to last between 20 to 30 years to boost investment, now at low levels. The first round of talks was held in Kuwait in 1989 before Iraq's 1990-91 occupation.
