Kiev Ready for IMF

KIEV () -- Ukraine has virtually completed a draft economic reform program to be submitted to the International Monetary Fund to obtain a $700 million loan, a senior economic official said Wednesday.

"We're wrapping up the final details. There are just a few calculations left, and we are on the verge of signing the letter of intention to the IMF," said deputy Economy Minister Volodymyr Naumenko.

He said Prime Minister Vitaly Masol had "responded with understanding" to conditions contained in the draft program during talks Wednesday with an IMF team.
