Bandits Seize $1 Million in Urals Heist

Robbers commandeered an armored car in the Ural Mountains city of Yekaterinburg and got away with $1 million worth of rubles, a news agency reported. Police fear that the driver and two guards were killed.

The inside of the car was stained with blood and its body was riddled with holes from bullets apparently fired from several Makarov pistols, Interfax quoted police as saying.

The two guards are missing as well as the driver of the armored car, which was owned by the Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the newsagency said.
