49er Sanders Starts Fast

SANTA CLARA, California () -- Deion Sanders said and did all the right things on his first day with the San Francisco 49ers.

The flashy free agent cornerback said the chance to win big was one of the chief reasons he signed Thursday with the 49ers. Sanders, who agreed to a 1-year, $1.1 million deal with a possible $750,000 in incentives, said money was probably the least of his concerns in making the decision. He even was the last player to come off the practice field.

San Francisco coach George Seifert said he was very impressed with Sanders. Now, the two-sport star needs to impress the 49ers with his play, starting Sunday against the L.A. Rams.
