Writer Hides in Sweden

STOCKHOLM () -- Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasrin, facing death threats at home from Moslem fundamentalists, arrived in Sweden on Wednesday and went into hiding, saying she needed to rest and work.

Nasrin, 32, slipped secretly into Sweden and was immediately whisked into hiding. She said she was in Sweden at the invitation of the Swedish Pen Club.

Nasrin had been in hiding in Bangladesh since June 4 after the government ordered her arrest for allegedly insulting Moslem religious feelings by telling India's Statesman newspaper that Islam's holy book, the Koran, should be "revised thoroughly." The comments provoked Moslem fury and violent demonstrations
