Planes Restore Smoking

LONDON () -- Several European airlines have removed bans on smoking on international flights because they drove passengers away, a British pro-smokers' lobby group said Thursday.

The Freedom Organization for the Right to Enjoy Smoking Tobacco said that KLM-Royal Dutch Airlines and Scandinavian Airlines Systems had ended trial bans on smoking and Lufthansa had reinstated smoking seats.

"The view that prohibition will be popular with the traveling public, attracting non-smokers and anti-smokers to the airline and increasing revenue, has been proved false," said a booklet produced by the organization.
