Olympic Cover-Up

LONDON () -- Nine positive drug tests at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics were covered up, according to a BBC television program.

The drug-testing laboratory was closed before the Games ended and files on the positive tests were destroyed, according to two anti-doping officials interviewed for Monday's "On The Line" program.

While 12 positive doping cases were made public earlier during the Games, nine other positive tests were allegedly never acted upon during the last two days of competition.

The allegations were supported by Arnold Beckett, who was a member of the IOC medical commission. He was recently dropped from the commission after arguing with other members.
