New Clinic Delayed

MOSCOW () -- U.S. Global Health Ltd., Moscow's newest western-style medical clinic, has once more had to delay its opening. A month behind schedule, it is now unlikely to start operating before Sept. 1.

Julie Brooks, assistant director of the clinic, declined to say what was causing the latest hitch. "It's a small problem which we are ironing out right now," she said.

The clinic, a joint venture between Columbia-Presbyterian Health Services, Inc. and PepsiCo World Trading Inc. has experienced several hiccups in setting up in Moscow, including unforeseen delays with Russian customs.

Its main competitor in Moscow, the American Medical Center, has filed a lawsuit against U.S. Global Health for misappropriating trade secrets.
