Industrial Output Up

Output of gasoline, steel pipes, cement and sugar all increased, the news agency reported the State Statistics Committee as saying. But overall industrial production in January to July was still 24 percent lower than for the same period in 1993.
Consumer prices rose by 5 percent in June, with retail sales increasing by 5 percent. The average wage increased by 8 percent to 224,000 rubles ($106) per month.
