Comeback Champ

AGRIGENTO, Sicily -- He nearly gave up cycling two years ago. Now Luc Leblanc is world champion. And he owed it largely to his wife.

"My wife kept me going. I thank her for helping me to overcome the problem," Leblanc said Sunday after winning the professional road race, the premier event at the World Cycling Championships.

The 28-year-old Frenchman, who nearly quit because of poor results, won after a grueling 251.75 kilometers in torrid weather.
