Top Receiver Retires

DAVENPORT, Iowa -- Roger Craig, who caught more passes than any other NFL running back, will leave the league with the same team that brought him in.

Craig said Wednesday he will sign with the San Francisco 49ers the first week of August, then immediately announce his retirement at a news conference.

He spent his first eight seasons as a pro with the 49ers and helped them win three Super Bowls. He played for the Los Angeles Raiders in 1991 and spent the last two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.
