Serbs Given Ultimatum

GENEVA -- Foreign ministers from the United States, Russia and Europe on Tuesday issued an ultimatum to the Bosnian warring factions to agree to a new peace package or face reprisals. Russian Foreign Minister Andrei Kozyrev told a news conference the ministers had endorsed a map dividing Bosnia roughly in half between the Serbs and a Moslem-Croat federation. The sides have two weeks to give their response, he said. Kozyrev said UN sanctions on Serbia and Montenegro, the rump Yugoslavia, would begin to be lifted if the Serbs accepted and implemented the plan. If not, he said, there was a recognition that lifting a UN arms embargo on former Yugoslavia for the Moslem-led government of Bosnia "may be inevitable."
