North Accuses South

SANAA, Yemen -- The north accused the breakaway south Friday of violating a UN cease-fire resolution by forming a secessionist government in the southern port of Aden. But the northern government maintained it still backed the resolution to halt Yemen's month-old civil war despite reports of another missile attack overnight on Aden, former capital of South Yemen. The northern accusation followed its pledge Thursday to honor Wednesday's UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire, an arms embargo and a fact-finding mission to Yemen, which lies on the southwestern tip of the Arabian peninsula. On Thursday, the southern leader, Ali Salem al-Beidh, named a 16-member cabinet led by Prime Minister Haidar Abu Bakr al-Attas.
