Russia Awaits Debts

MOSCOW ( -- Russia, struggling to repay debts of $80 billion to Western creditors, expects to receive $1.5 billion from its debtors this year, including $900 million of goods from India, documents released said Tuesday. The documents, distributed in the lower house of the Russian parliament Tuesday, showed Russia expected cash debt payments of $111 million, mostly from Algeria and Indonesia. But most payments would be in kind, and deliveries of goods totalling $1.37 billion were due from Vietnam, Algeria, Turkey, Pakistan and others.
