Nets' Gain Is Knicks' Loss

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey -- Kenny Anderson and Kevin Edwards each hit eight of their first 11 shots, and New Jersey continued its surprising domination of the New York Knicks by handing them their worst loss of the season, 103-83.

Tuesday night's win was the Nets' third in as many games against the Knicks this season, and this one was the easiest as Patrick Ewing got in early foul trouble.

Ewing picked up two fouls in the first two minutes and spent the rest of the first quarter on the bench watching the backcourt tandem of Anderson and Edwards combine for 19 points and a 32-25 Nets lead.

A 19-6 run at the start of the second quarter, featuring eight points by Edwards, stretched the lead to 20, and New York never came back.

Cavaliers 111, Nuggets 99. In Richfield, Ohio, Gerald Wilkins scored 15 of his 27 points in the first quarter and made four 3-pointers for Cleveland against Denver.

Pistons 100, Bullets 93. In Auburn Hills, Michigan, Joe Dumars, despite a sore left hamstring, scored 25 points as Detroit defeated Washington.

Timberwolves 97, Bucks 90. In Minneapolis, Christian Laettner had 23 points and 13 rebounds as Minnesota snapped a seven-game losing streak by defeating Milwaukee.

Magic 102, Celtics 92. In Orlando, Florida, Shaquille O'Neal grabbed 24 rebounds and scored 10 of his 36 points in the final 3:41, leading Orlando over Boston.

Spurs 109, Pacers 100. In San Antonio, Texas, David Robinson had 34 points and 10 rebounds as San Antonio defeated Indiana.

Rockets 103, Hawks 99. In Houston, Hakeem Olajuwon scored eight of his 28 points in the deciding final minutes, leading Houston over Atlanta.

Trail Blazers 106, Mavericks 103. In Dallas, Clifford Robinson scored 24 points sending Portland to its 13th consecutive victory over Dallas.

SuperSonics 133, 76ers 105. In Seattle, Shawn Kemp scored 24 points, including six dunks, and grabbed 13 rebounds in 22 minutes as Seattle routed Philadelphia for its fifth straight victory and its highest output of the season.

Clippers 100, Lakers 89. In Inglewood, California, Mark Jackson and John Williams scored 21 points each, leading the Los Angeles Clippers past the Lakers.

Warriors 123, Kings 113. In Oakland, California, Billy Owens scored a season-high 29 points as Golden State, after losing nearly all of a 19-point lead, recovered to defeat Sacramento.
