Beatles Deny Concert

The three surviving Beatles, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, on Monday denied media reports saying they would perform on stage together in a U.S. concert later this year.

"It's rubbish," McCartney was quoted as saying by the Daily Express newspaper when asked about reports that the group planned to perform in New York's Central Park.

He said there could never be a Beatles reunion without John Lennon, who was murdered in New York in 1980.

"There's as much chance of a Beatles reunion as reheating a souffle. When John was alive, there was a possibility. But without John, it will never happen," McCartney told the newspaper at his farm at Peasmarsh in southern England.
