5 Crushed in Tallinn

Five people were crushed to death in the Estonian capital Tallinn when a large store's roof caved in and slabs of concrete crashed to the floor, the Baltic News Service reported.

Thirteen people were also injured and nine were still in the hospital Sunday as a result of the accident, which happened Saturday afternoon when a pillar supporting the roof gave way, it said.

Experts blamed the accident on poor-quality building materials, saying water seeped into cavities and the frame reinforcing the concrete rusted away.
