Plane Crash Kills 15

MORRISVILLE, North Carolina () -- An American Eagle commuter plane carrying 20 people crashed and split in two about 6 kilometers from Raleigh-Durham International Airport on Tuesday. Fifteen people were killed.

Flight 3379 was en route from Greensboro to Raleigh-Durham, a flight of 112 kilometers, when it went down in a rugged, wooded area in wet, foggy weather.

It was the second crash of an American Eagle plane in less than two months.

Airport spokeswoman Teresa Damiano said 13 people died at the scene. Seven were taken to hospital, where two died.
