Israeli Soldier Killed

TYRE, Lebanon () -- Iranian-backed guerrillas rocketed an Israeli army post in south Lebanon on Monday, killing at least one soldier and wounding two others, security sources reported.

They said Shiite Muslim guerrillas of Hezbollah, or Party of God, fired 12 Katyusha rockets, 12 Sagger anti-tank missiles and a number of rocket-propelled grenades at the outpost in Tallousa, a village in the center of the Israeli-occupied zone along the border.

Hezbollah said the attack was to mark the birthday of Imam Ali, the most revered saint of the Shiite sect and the son-in-law of Prophet Mohammed, founder of Islam.
