EFTA Shuns East

GENEVA () -- The shrinking European Free Trade Association signaled Wednesday it had little interest in admitting former communist countries to fill a gap left by the switch to the European Union of three key members.

Ministers from the final four countries in the 34-year-old grouping -- Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and Liechtenstein -- agreed it would continue but were divided on how and in what form.
