Agassi's $6,000 Curse

MUNICH () -- World No. 2 Andre Agassi was fined $6,000 for firing a volley of obscenities at the umpire during his losing quarterfinal at the Grand Slam Cup.

Agassi swore in the first set of his match against Sweden's Magnus Larsson, earning a warning for an audible obscenity. He swore again in frustration and was penalized a point, which cost him his service game and set him on his way to losing the match.

Agassi said he had in fact sworn aloud a third time, which could have defaulted him from the match, but the umpire chose to disregard the offense.
