New Gas Cuts, Rosneft Warns

A top official at the state oil company Rosneft warned Friday that new gasoline shortages could soon strike Moscow because Rosneft had not signed an agreement with the truck company that delivers gas to the capital, Interfax reported.

Rosneft Vice President Favaris Davletiyarov said the truckers were waiting for a Moscow government decision on trade and delivery markups, Interfax said. Mayor Yury Luzhkov raised markup limits on gasoline last week to alleviate a week-long gasoline crisis.

Davletiyarov said that Moscow has been receiving 11,000 tons of gas per day since Tuesday, more than the 9,500 tons needed daily. But long lines persisted at many gas stations Friday.
