Moscow Output Slump

Industrial output in 1993 fell almost 12 percent in Moscow from 1992 and amounted to 5.31 trillion rubles at wholesale prices, Izvestia reported Tuesday.

Production of consumer goods fell 7.8 percent, while machine tool production fell 16 percent, the newspaper said.

Output of food products increased by more than 5 percent. Wine and liquor production declined by 7 percent. Light industry and textile production declined 7.9 percent. Output of cars fell 6 percent over the year, washing machines were down 29 percent.
