Luzhkov Allows Stadium Rally

A Communist rally, sanctioned by Mayor Yury Luzhkov, will be held this Sunday in Luzhniki stadium, a city official said Friday.

Mayoral spokesman Igor Zverev confirmed that the Communists had been granted permission for up to 30, 000 demonstrators to gather at Luzhniki at 1 P. M. Sunday, although he said he doubted there would be that many.

A recent rally in front of the Lenin Museum, the first Communist rally since the October uprising, attracted only a few hundred demonstrators.

Other hardline groups, the Russian Worker's Party and the Moscow Worker's Party, were refused permission to hold rallies Sunday in celebration of the anniversary of Stalin's 1936 Constitution.
