Gas Export Approved

MOSCOW (MT) - President Boris Yeltsin has signed a decree that will allow joint-stock society Gazprom to export 116 billion cubic meters of natural gas in 1994, Interfax said Wednesday.

Under the decree proceeds from 4. 4 billion tons of exports will go to Russia's regions and 1. 3 billion tons to the oil industry. Export proceeds for the remainder will go half into the federal budget and half to the Russian gas industry, Interfax said.

The government will pay $30 for every 1, 000 cubic meters of its share of the exports to cover transport expenses.
