I am writing in regard to the photo you published of the new monument to Alexander Blok in your issue of Nov. 10, a copy of which was brought to me by a friend. You described Blok as a "controversial poet" from the "19th century".

Alexander Blok (1880-1921) published his first book in 1904. So much for the decade in which he wrote.

As for whether he was "controversial" or not, is that really all you could think of? Are you aware that he was arguably the finest, most appreciated, and most beloved poet of the Russian Silver Age? Calling a good poet "controversial" is like calling the ocean big.
