English radio, 24 hours a day

If one U. S. -Russian joint venture has its way, Moscow will get its first English-Russian 24-hour-a-day radio station on Sunday.

"We hope to reach a broad audience of both foreigners and Russians", said Ted Stern, spokesman of the JV, Soviet-American Communications. "We hope to hear from listeners so we can define our programming as we identify our audience".

Targeting foreign and local business professionals. Radio 7 will feature American soft rock 45 minutes per hour and Russian adult music the remainder of the time. During the evening, the station will play Top 40 tunes.

Radio 7's programming will include a serial mystery theater, talk shows and special reports.

Newscasts will be in both English and Russian every at the top of the hour and every half-hour. Stern said.

Radio 7 is presently broadcasting on FM 73. 4 10 hours a day from 12 p. m. - 10 p. m.

To mark the start of round-the-clock service, the station plans a live broadcast beginning at 8: 30 a. m. Sunday at McDonalds on Pushkinskaya Square.
