Executor for Mad Hatter's account elected

Plans are expected to be finalized next week to establish a private bank account for $2, 700 that was deadlocked in a dispute between organizers of last October's Mad Hatters Ball and the event's beneficiary. On March 31, party organizers Scott Nicol and David McConnell will meet with Lena Mitriaev, mother of the two-year-old recipient of the charity, and a third party who will administer the account and authorize expenditures. Last Thursday, McConnell and Mitriaev agreed during mediation to turn over control of the money to a third party who will monitor its distribution. The charity event raised money for corrective heart surgery for the child, Nikita, whose heart condition becomes life-threatening after the age of five. , But a variety of snags and a dispute between fund raisers and Mitriaev held up distribution of the funds. Mitriaev said she was pleased with last Thursday's accord. ""It's a great relief"", she said. ""I'm very glad we have reached this agreement"".
