Report: Offices Wrecked

MOSCOW (MT) -- Seven men ransacked an office shared by two U. S. firms after their offer to sell champagne was turned down.

According to the newspaper Com-mersant, the men entered the office, shared by Interlink and Chemlube, at 11 A. M. Friday and proposed the champagne sale. Viktor Appel, representative of Interlink, declined the offer.

That set off a rampage through the office in which the gang destroyed computers, telephones, a photocopier and other equipment. The gang did not say what they wanted from the firm, or whether they would come back. According to police, the attack appeared to be a warning, and the office can expect the gang to return. Interlink representatives were not available for comment Sunday.
