International Cast for Tiaza Suite

Afraid of "RATS"? Don't be. They're a friendly bunch, formally known as the Russian Amateur Theatrical Society. An international theater group, RATS stages two English-language performances a year. Its latest show, Neil Simon's "Plaza Suite", will play for three nights next week.

The comedy, to be performed in the Radisson-Slavyanskaya Hotel, is produced by United Press International's Greg Gransden, 27, who is also playing one of the roles, and directed by Alaina Lemon, an American studying here on a Fulbright scholarship. The ten major parts are performed by American, Canadian, Dutch, Swedish and British residents of Moscow.

"Our main concern was to group people more or less according to the accents they've got", explained Pam Herrick, an American who has been involved with the group since last spring. "It won't do if a married couple has two completely different accents".

"Plaza Suite" will play for three nights, Nov. 12, 13 and. 14, in the hotel's large conference hall. The audience of Nov. 12 is invited to a post-performance champagne party. Regular tickets are $10; $40 tickets for the weekend shows include preferred seating and a preshow prime rib dinner. Tel. 932-7050.
