Construction Calls for a Detour

Only one month ago I described a detour around a section of the southwestern end of the Moscow Ring Road that is being reconstructed.

The situation has already changed, and the construction work has moved north, slowing traffic between Rublyovskoye Shosse and Leningradskoye Shosse. To avoid trouble, use the following route if you are driving from the south:

Turn right at Rublyovskoye Shosse and drive straight for several kilometers, then turn left at the bridge. But the intersection is the usual contradictory pattern -- to turn left, you first turn right after passing over the bridge, then drive down and turn right again to go back under the underpass.

You are now on Ulitsa Nizhniye Mnevniki. Drive straight, following all the zigzags. At Prospekt Marshala Zhukova, continue straight, but take note that the name of the road changes to Ulitsa Narodnogo Opolcheniya. Continue to the intersection with Leningradsky Prospekt.

Turn left at Leningradsky Prospekt by driving across the square and going 100 meters, keeping in the left lane through the parking lot in front of Bauklotz Home Care Shop. Make a U-turn at the end of the lot and drive back to Leningradsky Prospekt. Turn right and follow Leningradskoye Shosse to the intersection with the Ring Road. --
