In Moscow, a State Duma member held talks with Milosevics brother, the Yugoslav ambassador, on Tuesday and ruled out an immediate reply to Russias offer of mediation in Yugoslavias political crisis, Reuters said.

Dmitry Rogozin, head of the Dumas foreign affairs committee, said after the meeting he did not expect a response before Wednesday.

The ambassador, Borislav Milosevic, welcomed President Vladimir Putins offer of mediation but said he could not predict how the Yugoslav government would react.

Earlier, an opposition source in Belgrade said Kostunica would visit Moscow if he received an official invitation guaranteeing a meeting with Putin.
