What to Do: Shop for Investments

The Investor Expo opens its doors to the public on Friday, covering everything from mutual funds and real estate to foreign exchange and insurance.

The biannual international forum, which runs every autumn and spring, is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

The two-day event, part of the International Finance Week in Moscow, centers on everyone's favorite topic: money -- how to make it, how to save it and how to invest it. Under this heading, the expo has listed 22 investment-related themes.

The event is to be held at the Radisson SAS Slavyanskaya hotel and is organized by Finexpo, a finance-focused event planning company. Finexpo vice president Shorena Jejeia said 8,000 participants were expected -- up from 7,000 last year -- from around the country, as well as from ex-Soviet republics, Switzerland and Britain. More than 103 companies, including 70 investment firms, are to be featured. Attendees will be able to receive free advice and consultations from representatives at each stand.

Nine talks are planned, including by CenterInvest Securities, Capital Asset Management and UralSib, on topics such as "The Advantages of Internet Trading" and "The Outlook on the Second- and Third-Tier Stock Markets."

Stalls are to be in the hotel's exhibition center, and presentations in Hall No. 2, the Pushkin room.

Concurrent to the expo, two related events are also scheduled under the banner of International Finance Week in Moscow: the 10th Internet Trading Expo and a conference on private pension funds and mutual funds.

The investment expo is free for all, but registration is required on the web site www.iexpo.ru/register/form.html.
