Russia's sports minister said that it is time to consider removing the ban on selling beer at sporting events, a news report said.
Lifting the ban on beer sales in stadiums during sporting events would increase revenues for event organizers and please spectators, Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said, Interfax news agency reported Tuesday.
"As of today, the restrictions have to a certain degree fulfilled their role, and I think we can now quite happily … think about returning beer to the stadiums," Mutko was quoted as saying.
Currently, there is a ban on beer sales during sporting events in Russia, with the exception of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Mutko said, Interfax reported.
