Baker & McKenzie Announces Recent Appointments in the CIS
Moscow partner Sergei Voitishkin has been elected managing partner of the Firm's CIS offices, which are located in Almaty, Baku, Kyiv, Moscow and St. Petersburg. Recommended by Chambers and Legal 500, he specializes in corporate and commercial law. In recent years he has served as lead attorney on a number of high profile mergers and acquisitions in Russia.
Thomas Firestone joined Baker & McKenzie in Moscow as a senior counsel from the US Department of Justice. He focuses on the FCPA, internal compliance audits and investigations, white-collar crime, as well as on training local personnel and third parties, and development of compliance tools that satisfy both local and home jurisdiction requirements.
Baker & McKenzie's finance and capital markets partner Roy Pearce relocated to the Moscow office from London. He joined the Firm in the CIS in 1996 and currently represents issuers and investment banks in capital markets transactions, including debt restructurings, with a focus on the CIS and CEE. Mr. Pearce is recommended by Chambers and IFLR1000.
Simon H.P. Morgan joined Baker & McKenzie in Moscow as a finance and capital markets partner. Recommended by IFLR1000 and Legal 500, he specializes in securitization, structured finance, loans and credit facilities, as well as capital markets, with a focus on ground-breaking asset-backed structured cross-border emerging markets transactions.
Alexander Gomonov was promoted to partner in the Moscow office of Baker & McKenzie. Having joined the Firm in 2003, he specializes in corporate, commercial and natural resources law. Mr. Gomonov advises clients on M&A and general corporate law matters involving the oil and gas, and mining and metals sectors.
