A Federation Council task force met with Google representatives in September to discuss confidentiality issues, in particular points in the privacy contract that allow Google to scan users' emails and provide the results to business partners, Digit.ru reported.
Gattarov said after the meeting that the policy was clear in the English-language privacy agreement but not the Russian-language one, and hence the task force asked Google to improve the Russian text.
The new version of the agreement "ensures that the transfer of personal data to third persons is limited by a series of procedures guaranteeing its security," Gattarov said. "It is gratifying that they listened to us."
