Ukrainian border guards in the Chernovitsky region have confiscated rare photos of fascist dictators Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini from an elderly Russian woman on a train bound for Sofia, Bulgaria.
The pictures belonged to a 68-year-old Russian citizen and were taken on Saturday, the Ukrainian Border Service's press service reported Monday.
Authorities found three envelopes dated 1944 and eight photographs tracing back to the period of 1938-1942 with depictions of the World War II dictators, the report said.
It is unclear for what reasons the photos were confiscated, though it is against Russian law to take items of historical value, like military medals or icons, out of the country.
