The general forecast for the construction of nuclear power plants around the world until 2030 has returned to levels seen "pre-Fukushima," the head of the state atomic corporation Rosatom Sergei Kiriyenko said Tuesday.
Speaking at the public forum "Atomic Works, Society, Safety" in St. Petersburg, Kiriyenko noted that Japan, Germany and some other European states have suspended their plans to build new nuclear power plants after a tsunami caused a meltdown at a Japanese facility in 2011. However he said that new players like Britain have become interested in atomic construction and in recent years the number of orders had doubled, Interfax reported.
