U.S. President Reagan and Soviet General Secretary Gorbachev depart after the final meeting at Hofdi House, Reykjavik, Iceland.
Twenty-three years ago today, on Oct. 15, 1990, Soviet statesman Mikhail Gorbachev was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to end the Cold War. The politician became the first communist leader to win a Nobel Peace Prize.
