Muscovites will soon be able to restore battery life to their mobile phones, tablets and other gadgets at area parks through special charging points located at several of the city's green zones.
The first outlets are already in place at Sokolniki Park in northeast Moscow, with plans to install 50 charging points at the park's entrance by winter. Each point will be equipped with two sockets that can be used to recharge mobile phones, Sokolniki director Andrei Lapshin told Izvestia.
By spring similar charging points may also be installed in Babushkinsky Park and Tagansky Park, as well as in the Northern Tushino and Kuzminki parks, NSN news agency reported.
Lapshin said that the outlets, which are being placed behind benches, cost about 500,000 rubles ($15,700) for 50 stations.
