Rosinter, a restaurant company, on Thursday said it won the bidding to open two McDonald's outlets at a new terminal at St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport.
The outlets and four more restaurants will open later this year and next year, the company said in a statement on its website.
Rosinter is the only franchisee of McDonald's in Russia, with the mandate to develop the brand at Moscow's and St. Petersburg's transportation hubs.
The Pulkovo outlets of the fast food chain will seat 45 people and 132 people and work round the clock.
The other Pulkovo restaurants will be Il Patio, Planeta Sushi, T.G.I. Friday's, American Bar and Grill and a cafe called Costa Coffee.
Rosinter now runs 13 eateries in two existing Pulkovo terminals. But one of the terminals is soon closing for an upgrade, which will force a shutdown of 11 of the Rosinter restaurants.
Revenue at Rosinter rose by 0.4 percent in the first half of 2013, while customer flow was down 1.4 percent. The company's founder and chairman is Rostislav Ordovsky-Tanayevsky Blanco, a Moscow-based Venezuelan businessman.
