Police near Moscow are looking for a gunman suspected of killing a young man over a noisy party in his yard, Russian law enforcement officials said Monday.
The body of the man, born in 1986, was found outside a residential building in the town of Noginsk, some 30 kilometers (18 miles) east of Moscow, with a gunshot to the chest, Moscow Region police spokeswoman Irina Gumennaya said Monday.
According to a preliminary investigation, the victim was among four men drinking alcohol and listening to music in the yard around 3 a.m. Monday morning.
A man from a nearby building told the party-goers to turn the noise down, but they ignored him. "He later came back with a hunting rifle and shot one of the men dead," Gumennaya said.
The shooter fled the scene, but police say he has been identified.
A criminal investigation has been opened on murder charges, which carry a maximum punishment of up to 15 years jail.
