The main event this summer in Moscow is the IAAF World Championships Moscow-2013. The event is historic: This is the first time it's being held in Moscow, so it's a must-see.
We'll see you there at the Luzhniki stadium from August 10-18! The most distinguished athletes will be coming to Moscow: six-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt, Olympic champions David Rudish and Yohan Blake. And, of course, we're all waiting for the unrivaled Yelena Isinbayev.
Come out to show support!
Tickets are already on sale at www.mos2013.ru.
The “Moscow Challenge” International Competition
As part of preparations for the IAAF World Championships Moscow-2013, from June 10-11, these competitions received an elevated status from the International Association of Athletics – IAAF World Challenge. The “Moscow challenge” for Luzhniki will be the dry run for the IAAF World Championships to be held in August. Last year, about 200 athletes from over 40 countries took part in the competitions. This year, we're expecting even more athletic stars.
All-Russian Olympic Day
June 29. In Moscow, the Luzhniki sports complex will serve as the center of the festival. The celebration will combine sports, education and culture. Guests at Luzhniki will not only learn more about the history of sports and the Olympic movement, but also get to enjoy leisure and entertainment. More than 20 sports and entertainment venues will be operating for visitors, and there will be a variety of contests, relay races and master classes from Olympic champions, as well as other performances.
Moscow Sports Holiday
July 7. This grand festival dedicated to sports and healthy living has established itself as the most substantial and significant event in Moscow's athletic life. More than 250,000 Muscovites are expected to attend. Each guest will find a class to suit his taste, and everyone will be able to not only watch, but actively participate in an event. The festival will feature all of the latest popular sports: moto freestyle, parkour, drifting, big ramp, roller derby. Streetball, football, chess and roller sports will be offered. In addition, there will be an area for family races and kids' “fun races.” The show program also includes a concert by Russian and foreign performers.
