This coming Saturday night will be filled with cultural events and entertainment as the second annual Library Night kicks off across Russia.
More than 700 libraries, museums, bookstores, galleries and art cafes will open their doors to visitors.
"This year, the event's aim is to support reading as a way of life and to allow the library and book community to find new forms of professional collaboration and interaction with the public," organizers said in a statement carried by Interfax.
The theme of this year's Library Night is the "Great Literary Journey."
Literature aficionados will be able to meet with writers and take part in photography and art master classes, public readings, lectures, exhibitions, competitions and tours. Check with your local library or bookstore for details on how they are marking the event.
In 2012, Library Night was held for the first time on the night of April 20-21, with more than 750 cultural institutions and bookstores in Russia participating.
An opening ceremony will be held in the Russian State Library in Moscow at 5 p.m. Friday.
