Omsk police have opened a criminal case against a woman who attacked a fellow passenger, breaking her arm, during a struggle for a seat on the minibus.
According to a police statement, the incident occurred Saturday, when the unidentified attacker ran up to the minibus with five other passengers and began to jostle its doors.
"One woman made a remark to her [the attacker], after which she felt a sharp jolt in her back and fell to the ground," the police statement said, adding that the victim was subsequently hospitalized with a broken arm and head injury.
The other passengers then called police and prevented the attacker from escaping when the minibus stopped. She was subsequently detained and faces up to three years in prison on charges of intentionally inflicting bodily harm.
